History
Way back in 3000 BC, water was known to be a cleansing element for the soul and body. Palaces would have pools for bathing. Roman palaces even had thermal baths for people to meet and talk. Production of soap for bathing purposes began during the middle ages.
It was only during the Industrial Revolution that bathrooms as we know them now were developed to its full function. Add to that advances in materials and manufacturing and we have luxurious bathrooms that would simply be magic to our ancestors.
