Here are some tips in conceptualizing your bath’s design:
Lavatory area should be against the wall, or at least be behind a half-wall. Wall mounted fixtures mean easy cleaning.
If you opt for roll in showers, these should have a bench seat. Also, the tiles should slant a bit toward the drain. This keeps the outside floor dry.
Under-the-floor tubs should be built with a raised area, and not steps. Handrails should also be built into the wall, for safety.
Heating sources like heat lamps or exhaust fans should be installed near the open shower.
If you put up windows and skylights, these should be proportional to the total area of the bathroom.
If your bathroom is small, install full mirrors. These can make small baths look large.
Functional areas should be properly lighted.

The bathroom is a different part of the house. By different, I don’t mean it’s detached or something. What I mean is, if the total theme/motif or color of your house is a bit dark, you can either follow the color trend or not. Play with it.
But the least you can do is fix the lighting. Yes, you can either brush up a few standing lamps or wall lamps if you wish to conserve space. The more lights you choose, the lighter the room will be (that is, if you don’t want to do a total revamp to your bathroom.

Thing to avoid when remodeling / decorating your bathroom:
• Do not display your personal toiletries and pills on your bathroom. Store them in cabinets. Keep your medicines and ointments (you don’t want to scare visitor’s away, do you?)
• Carpet is a big no-no for the bathroom. GO for surfaces that can easily be wiped clean.
• Wallpapers will easily be damaged inside your bathroom. Go for paint.
Your bathroom should be convenient and comfortable. Bathrooms though it may be small, it has the greatest impact, so clean and maintain your bathroom well.

Bathroom maintenance is always perceived as a dirty work, but it very essential in taking care of your bathroom.
Always check for leakage. Check the connections to the drain. Check if the flush is properly working. Make sure that your toilet is tightly secured to the floor. Inspect your tub for any kinds of loose tile. Check for missing tile gout.
Molds often accumulate at the bottom of the door or curtain. Regularly clean your curtains and door with an abrasive cleaner.
Open the back of the toilet and check for irregularities. Call the plumber if needed.
Reinventing your bathroom doesn’t have to be on a large scale. You can just add one fixture at time such as body sprays, adding television, or shower systems depending on your budget.
You can start by changing your shower curtains and rugs to give it a new look. You can also add curtains on your windows. Candles add a soothing and relaxing effect to your bathroom,
Major remodeling would include repainting the room, changing the tiles, and major plumbing changes. To help your project be successful, plan ahead. Visualize what you would want to achieve in the end. Take note of it; if possible make a draft of what you would like it to be. This will be essential in achieving the bathroom of your dreams.

Remodeling isn’t just about improving your interior, but it’s all about the comfort that your bathroom gives you.
Other than your bedroom, this is the place where you can be yourself even when you go naked. This is the place where you can relax while bathing in a nice comfortable spa-look-a-like tub. In other words, turn your bathroom into an everyday experience spa. Make your daily visit inside your bathroom like a day pleasure spent in the spa. Live best even inside your bathroom. However, think about reasonable aspects (you can either recycle the existing decors), and your living comfort during remodeling.
If your left with no option and you have a very small bathroom, don’t feel bad. There are some ways for you to maximize your bathroom space.
* Go for built ins! Look for items that can be mounted on the wall such as towel caddy, built in cabinets and the likes.
* Create an illusion. You can add decors on your ceilings to create an illusion. Use glass doors to create an illusion that the room is bigger.
* Paint it with light colors or use light colored tiles. You can purchase a new one or just repaint your existing tiles.
Using warm colored floors will give your bathroom the softening effect that offsets the cool looks of fixtures. Paint your walls a warm color to counteract the coldness of the flooring and porcelain fixtures, if you are using some. You might wonder why worry about the bathroom colors too much when it’s not always seen by people who come and visit your house? Well, colors can greatly affect the human psyche, it induces feeling and sets the mood. It is very important to find out what color calms your mood. Most people stay with earth tones as they bring in texture for visual interest.

One of the highlights of any bathroom is the tub. You can soak away a whole workday’s worth of stress with a long, hot bubble bath. But how sure are you that a bathtub is comfortable unless you sit in it? If you’re renovating your bathroom, and you’re planning to install a new bathtub, there are a lot of considerations. One of them is size.
Bigger isn’t always better. A 5-foot tub is good enough for most people. This size offers ample space to stretch out, and gives a good foothold, offering that feeling of security. This way, you don’t float into oblivion when the tub is full (and possibly drown!). Do check the back if it’s angled well enough for your built and height. You should get good neck support from your tub.
A tub for two people should slant at either end and has taps in between. However, if your bathroom only has space for a small tub, then do opt for an extra-deep one!
