To brighten tiles and basins, mix 100 ml raw linseed oil and 30 ml turpentine. Apply sparingly to a clean cloth and polish the tiles.
To remove yellow stains, mix 100 ml vinegar and 100 g salt. Leave this paste for half an hour or until the stains are removed.
To prevent blockages in pipes, dissolve 3 tablespoons of washing soda in 2 liters of water. Boil this solution then pour to the plughole. Repeat once a month.
To unblock a waste pie, mix 140 g salt and 140 g baking soda. Pour this mixture down the plughole and leave the baking soda to fizz. After a few minutes, let hot water run down.
